my brother has been on 2mg dose of Tacrolimus for weeks now, but he still has 1+ proteine in his urine. His nephrologist also told us that despite the fact he switched the dose from 1.25 mg to 2 mg, my brother still has low Tac concentration in his blood. That’s why I’m wondering if the medication isn’t working, or could it be that some of the other medications he’s on (Enum, Prednisone) are actually causing the increased presence of protein in his urine? Nephrologist is considering increasing the dosage, but he’s still not sure where do the proteins come from.
