i was diagnosed with cervical stenosis,collapsed vertabrae 4L/5L ,chronic pain 24/7 and because i have s/j/s i cannot go through surgery or have pain relief,my Qs is ive had this for 3yrs now what do i expect in the future i have asked my gp's but all i get theres nothing we can do for you go home and deal with it..So now ive allowed time to go bye but still need answers what have i too expect is this progresive do i end up in a wheelchair,my mobility is i can walk short distances,cant sit for long periods,i cant walk up stairs,in pain 24/7,what am i too expect?not knowing my future is stressfull,and when im stressed or frayed my pain is worse,i would rather know what to expect ive heard lots about people getting surgery and what happened after it but ive never heard from anyone whos had this condition for years and what they have gone through without surgery please help !.

I have similar. I'm not keen on surgery, as I had it for my lower back some time ago. Try all the following:
- See a physiotherapist.
- Exercise, move your spine as much as you can.
- Find a pain clinic.
- Consult a different doctor.

i have had a collapsed lower lumber 4l/5l i can feel the lump on my spine,i also have cervical stenosis,i have saw gp and consultant and i have been declined any surgery as they said that if they try and fix the collapsed vertabrae the rest of my spine will crumble i cant take pain relief as i have s/j/s all i want to know is this a progressive condition and what am i to expect in the future am i disabled now as i cant walk for long and i cant stand for long either and some days the pains bearable and some days i cant bear the pain will i end up in a wheelchair please help.
