Please i Need some help! I had bilateral surgery 2 weeks Ago and now my left testicle is about 3 times its original size, hard (no hidrocele, hope it was), with pain in the surgical area, and darker skin on this side is the scrotum. Dr told me it was some hematoma so it would take some time just wait. I can't! My teste is huge and painful. Anyone with a similar experience. Please and thanks!

Doctors usually recommend if the pain is too much, then you should go to the nearest emergency centre or hospital to have it re-evaluated. Maybe they could do an ultrasound and see if it's really a haematoma. What you want to be careful of is torsion, an accidental cut to the blood flow to the testis, or that the hernia repair was unsuccessful.

If it turns out to be a case of haematoma, you can ask what can be done about it. I've not had a similar experience, but you could try being watchful and wait a bit longer to see if the possible haematoma swelling resolves on its own - while taking anti-inflammatory pain medication, apply antiseptic cream on the surgical incisions, sitting in warm baths, and wearing scrotal support, along with lots of bed rest, and maybe apply some ice indirectly on the area. Sometimes, waiting for the symptoms to get better is your only option, as there may be nothing the doctors can do immediately.

I assume you had bilateral hernia surgery.
