I'm two weeks recovering from a large inguinal hernia. I've been freaking out because of a large mass in my scrotum which still hasn't gone away. After researching for hours and asking my doctor I've come to realize swelling and fluid in the srotum is normal. The fluid can harden and I actually thought that it was my testicle. The fluid has hardened similiar to the size of a jumbo egg and I've heard it may take months for it to go away.

1.5 weeks ago I got a sports injury that caused a scrotal hematoma and am having almost identical symptoms. I was told that surgery was not necessary by the urologist and that it would take time to heal.

The hematoma started off as a large amount of fluid in my scrotum, and recently the blood has condensed into what now feels like a huge left testicle (about 5x normal size) with the same shape and feel of a testicle. I was a little worried that it was my testicle that possibly absorbed the blood and expanded but it sounds like you've heard that the testicle is actually inside the "jumbo egg" as you call it?
