You see, I am quite irregular, usually every couple months for 6-8 days - 8 only occurring once thus far. - Once I'd even gone 6 months without having my period only knowing I hadn't had sex in a very long time prior.
The last 3 months I've received my period somewhat regularly but my period just started last Saturday morning and just... stopped by about 11 that same night. I'm still as clean as a whistle and I feel fine... please tell me someone has an idea... or even some advice about menstrual cycles relevant to this.

I am 20 years old and I usually always have had long heavy periods. Then just recently, maybe 7 months or so, my periods last not even 2 days ! This month I got my period 4 days early on the 12th. That morning i got cramps as usual and then 3 hours later got my very light spotting which then turned a heavy flow. It was very heavy until the night. I put in my last tampon and when i woke up the next moring, the tampon wasnt even half used. Then I used 1 light tampon for the rest of the day and it was gone. Just a tiny bit of spotting until the night. Is this normal? I am not on birth control and have had an abortion 2 years ago. Should I be worried?

I am now nearly 37 and when I was about 29 my periods started to drop from five to seven days to about three days max. Over the last three years they have dropped to two days max and are very, very light. I still get cramps on first day. I have never been on the pill or given birth. I am worried that this may be an estrogen deficiency due to some underlying illness. The periods are regular, though: every 27-29 days. Does anyone else have this experience since turning thirty?
I haven't spoken to a doctor about this but I do have an appointment in two weeks.
Please reply if you've had similar experience for no obvious reason.

wow.. just came on here to find out if I was normal or what was going on too. I am 29 and just got off of the nuva ring 2 months ago. my first period after getting off the ring lasted about 2 1/2 - 3 days and now this one was only 1 day and some spotting. This seems completely abnormal to me. not to mention ive been really hot lately while everyone else is cold. I just need to go see the Dr.

im so glad for this website and everyone in the same boat. I was so worried about my periods, im on the pill and have been for a few years, before the pill my periods lasted 5-7 days, then around 3-5 on the pill, then 3 days for a while now its gone to 1. I was rather worried about being sick or being pregnant. I am sexually active but we use the pill and a condom each time. my periods have always been extremely painful, thats why i went on the pill but they didnt get any better now i get dull pain in the evening and extreme pain the next day with a small amount of dark blood.

I'm 18...and have pretty much the same problem. I'm not sexually active and I haven't had my period since July 2007. I am overweight, but I've lost 15lbs. lately and I got my period on Thursday. It only lasted a 1/2 day and it really was really light. It was also extremely painful...I woke up several times Thursday night because my hip bones felt like they were on fire.
I'm really confused...has anybody experienced something this?

I am 20yr's old and in the same situation except my period has changed when i started i use to start the day after my neice now i get it at the end of each month. October 2008 it was 3days now in the last 3months it has lasted 1 day sometime's not even a day. I had a nurse tell i could be dealing with pregnancy but the test's have all been negitive but i think that i may have to have a blood test done...

Hey guys Im 33 years old and I also have been worried about my sometimes 1-3 day periods. Like most of you the blood is there the first day however the next days its almost non-existent. I have been to the gyno and he said it was fine as long as I am having a regular cycle. I am trying to get pregnant now with my husband. -Just started. Let's see what happens. I also just started taking iron supplement and it seems as if my blood is much redder-not as brown. Maybe that's helped some. well girls keep you posted

Hie guysss. Oh my God I am so relieved to eventually got to see this forum. I have had the same problem this few months. I'm 29 years old, married and has been trying to conceive for the past one year. I once had a miscarriage and did d&c. I just want a little comfort here by having someone to assure me that they hv the same problem but finally having a baby. I am so worried dat this could be the sign of premenopause as I am still very young. :$

Hey-im in the same boalt as well for the past two years or so i have had 1-2 day periods. My GYN said the same as the other responder. But im worried-I am 30 with no children, when this first started i was planning a wedding and tring to get pregnant the natural way-well 2 years later still waiting. I wish i knew what was going on and why my doctor just dismissed it. I havent had any fertility test done so how would he really know,-

I have the same problem as everyone on this post. I used to have regular periods then when I turned 34yrs old, it changed. Now I only get my period between cycle 24-28 and it only last for 1 day, if I'm lucky, 1 1/2 days. Like some of you, I get the usual cramps in the first 2 days then I bleen light to medium for the 1st day and on the 2nd day, I just spot with dark brown blood instead of red. (Most of the time its dark in color) I've been trying to conceive for almost 2yrs now with my first and so far, no luck. My gyn says its normal when I brought it up to him but sometimes, I feel like its not. I'm just curious if anyone of you out there was able to conceive with the same kind of situation or was anyone diagnosed with pre-menopause? I really want to have a baby but I'm afraid my light period is preventing me from doing so...HELP.....ANYONE WITH ADVISE OF WORDS OF COMFORT!

not only are they getting shorter they are getting more painful
to the point where i am on the floor and i cant breath and my vision goes blurry and i feel like i am going to vomit everywhere
no medication helps
ive been perscribed naproxen and now apo mefenamic...and nothing helps
i have to take 2 perscribed pills along with 2 gravols to help the naseua and 2 extra strength tylenols...
and all this will do is put me to sleep
also...

Hi everyone. I am 37 and have had my periods shorten from 5-6 days to only 1-2 days over the past 2 years. I have never been on any birth control and I have have 7 year old twin girls. I am concerned but I cannot see a doctor due to a lack of health insurance. Does anyone have any answers to this condition?

well im 24 and for the last year my periods have only lasted one day with a bit of dark brown spotting the day after.
I started my periods late at 16 and my periods were light and lasted 2-3 days. I started taking the pill when I was 17 and this actually increased the amount of period flow to about 4-5 days of what I would consider to be regular.
At 21 I started to notice my hair was falling out which was reduced down to stress. I thought my pill might have had something to do with making me depressed so I stopped taking it. It took a few months for my periods to get back on track but when they did they were a little lighter than when I was on the pill, but nothing to cause concern. Then about a year later they gradually got less and less. Last year I had an incident where i was in the most excruciating period pain imaginable. went to the docs they just gave me pain killers incase it happens again. not much help really and no advice on my short periods.
This has now gone one for over a year with no improvement even after seeing a homeopath.
I would like to get pregnant in the future, has anyone had this problem and still got pregnant????

I have been reading your post and I dont want to worrie anyone but I too have been having 1 to 2 day periods and my husband and I have been trying for 2 1/2 years to get pregnant and no such luck. I was hoping to find some more information about this but I am lost. Please help. I already have two children from a former relationship so I know I can have children just looking to have one more child.
