I have the same problem and my doctor thought it was a hernia but it turned out to be caused by drug use (pot speed etc) and medications my doctor gave me and I started damaging the tissue of my penis because I masturbated too often and too rough. Over the years all the abuse caused all parts of my body to heal poorly (neck back knees etc) and I had finally quit drugs and seen a doctor regularly. By the time I saw that my penis was already around 4 inches I was too ashamed to seek medical help. My genitals are now the size scale of less than a 1 year old (it's smaller than my brother's 18 month old). The only option given to me was a penis implant but it seems like a waste of money because I no longer get erect.

I would guess it has to do with blood flow. Your body is pumping the blood to your muscles in your legs and muscles involved in running... not your penis.

Also you are looking at your penis from an exextremely high angle. High angles make the subject look week. Look from a low angle and things look bigger and more in charge!

Wow!  I'm so happy I used Google to search my problem out and stumbled across this forum.  I had the impression that I was the only person this (penis retraction) was happening to.  I haven't talked to my doctor about this because the embarassment is to great of a feeling for me to overcome.  Just glad I'm not the only one, I guess this sort of thing is normal.

I have this same problem although it doesn't really bother me as such, I was more curious to find out if it 'was just me'. As it definitely only occurs after exercise, I am fairly happy with the answers given here. Thanks

The problem sounds like you have a hypertonic Pelvic Floor which can be caused by exercise. 

To fix this you need to learn how to relax the pelvic floor through breathing. You may start to notice you are constantly holding your pelvic floor in a tense state and the beginning of the problem.

A good way to stretch the pelvic floor is by squatting. Sitting in a deep squat for 5 minutes will help stretch it out. It won't be fixed overnight! depending on how long you have had the problem, the longer it will take to get it to fully relax.

Like one guy said before I believe its caused because your body diverts blood flow to the places it needs it most. Like sometimes when I've been running alot I can feel my arms kind of tingling because my body isn't supplying as much blood to them. It makes sense to me, your penis needs more blood to be erect so if it has less than normal blood flow it shrinks. Another example is when its cold outside your penis shrinks because your body is diverting blood flow to other parts of your body that need it more to help conserve body heat.
