my testicles and scrotum are purple

i noticed this yesterday that ball sack and scrotum are a dark purplish color
i cant recall any blow to my testicles so i dont know how this happened
there are no bumps or anyhing just a discolaration.
is this common? anything wrong?

Hello there Steve,

Do you have any other symptoms like pain or itchy sensation? There are few conditions in which testis are purple or red but there should be some other symptoms as well. If you don’t remember hurting yourself maybe you have just overreacted during masturbation. If this is the case everything will get its own natural color very soon.

And this can happen if you had sexual intercourse and it lasted for a few hours without your orgasm. In this case the scenario is the same and you need to wait until situation gets to the normal.

If nothing of this is cause in your case than you should visit urologist because it could be some kind of infection which will need antibiotics to be cured.

Any unexplained or even known causes of discoloration or lack of blood circulation in the penis or testicles should be considered an emergency and you should go immeidately to the nearest Dr. or emergency room for help. Lack of blood flow makes the penis and testicles turn purple and they can die in as little as two hours or less if the blood flow is blocked off enough. Go straight in for help, you could lose your penis and testicles to gangrene if no help when the blood flow is cut off. Then your penis and testicles would need to be cut off permanently if they die completely.

This is a sign that blood flow has been cut off - possible the tubes are twisted cutting off blood flow. Stomach pain can be a sign.Go straight to emergency.
