It doesnt help pain in my jaw and it doesnt help pain in my head. i just want all this pain and popping to go away. I just want some advice about what to do.

Hi there, I am 18 years old and was diagnosed with tmj after a horse riding accident when I was 13. When I first had it the pain was quite severe, I experienced migrines daily and a very swollen jaw. I went to a specialist who sent me for a cat scan and was told that nothing could be done other than what you were told; mouth guard and tylonol. I couldn't live with the pain and decided to try a massage therapist, although my jaw still clicks at times it's nowhere near what it was a few years ago. The massagist helped me signifigantly and I would strongly reccomend that you try one! Hope this helps!

I would totally agree with what ec140466 has posted. It is very painful dealing with TMJ at times and the most important thing to remember to help alleviate symptoms is to try to work with the muscles instead. A lot of what helps out with the pain as well is to work on some relaxation techniques. I hope that this is helpful!
