Neck Pain in right side of throat, only when swallowing

I am having these symptoms for 2 months now. Becoming a little concerned. It really is annoying and I think about it often. Going to make an appointment with ENT.

I was out somewhere and all of a sudden this pain in the right side above my adams apple sometimes the full right side were that long muscle is but i also get like pains in the middle of my chest like shooting pains when gas comes up for a burp when i eat it feels like its stuggeling to go down and its painful from the top of my esophogis right down the my stomach ??? If someone can tell me what it could be, let me know

I randomly had some sort of spasm when lying on the sofa, my neck sort of jolted and pain came on. Lasted about two seconds and now I'm in constant discomfort and pain when swallowing. What to do??

I am feeling the same thing today, just happened after I woke up, very painful to swallow on the right side along my neck right next my trachea, painful to touch painful if bring my chin to my chest, I feel it might by lymph nodes, if it doe not stop soon I will have to see doctor.

All of you people need to get an ultra sound of your thyroid done/ or CT scan of it, I went in for chest pains a month ago but have been having the same odd pain as all of you For 1 year now Drs passed it off as sinus probably - allergies- muscle strains but it was found as a fluke when I went in for chest pains, It is a nodule on my thyroid possible cancer but they remove your thyroid and you are out on meds to control after. They did an ultra sound after they found the nodule to determine if it was just a cystic nodule or a mass. Do not wait go in to see an endocrinologist have it removed. Nobody could explain all the fatigue I was experiencing muscle weakness and pain, even lower back pain and headaches all from my thyroid... Do not walk ... Run to the Dr, they are too quick to pass it off rather been persistent and go! Could save your life!

Hi, I'm experiencing the same and going to get CT with contrast, don't remeber anytime recent of any injuries but about 10 years ago I went to same DR and same symptoms and said muscular but had gone away and never came back and this time it is a lot worse but same thing everyone else said tilt head to right and swallow and very little to no pain, turn head to left in any position up or down and lot's of pain so wish me luck and will let everyone know how it turned out.

Interesting. ! I ve been looking for an explanation on the same issue but I found your message and , weird : i ve been playing tennis too for the last 2 weeks and i m right handed too. Cood be related to that? How are you doing so far coz I see your mesage is like an year old.? Thanks

I also have soreness when swallowing on the outside left of my throat going down to area of my Adam's apple. The spot on very bottom right of larynx is tender & sore to touch. It seemed to start out of no where? Only things I can possibly attribute it to are.....had a bad head cold with lots of sneezing that was at tail end of healing or lots of sneezing from high pollen season or slept on a new firm high loft pillow the night before day the pain started. I have felt discomfort deep in my left ear from it as well as under left jaw and even in my left teeth on day it started. I've only had this for 3 days. It's a tiny bit better, not bad, just always there. Ibuprofen does seem to take the edge off, so thinking it is muscular. I will monitor it over this week. If it persists without improvement or gets worse or pain changes, then I will go to a doctor.

I have the same problem as everyone else in this thread......but I'm relieved to see someone else say that they re-injure it when they sneeze......that's exactly what happens to me!

did it end up going away? mine has been there for about 2 months now and not letting up.

I have EXACT same symptoms. My primary was baffled. What did your doctor say? Find any answers? I'm going on week 4 and, although not worsening, it's not getting better.

after having this same issue, I realized my issue was excessive usage of earbuds. I stopped listening to podcast and music for a while and the pain was gone. as soon as i picked it up again the pain started again. This was my solution...hope this might help a few of you guys
