Hi. I have experienced nerve jolts, or something like that. I feel like jolts of electricity running through my face. What could this mean? Is there somebody with experience with nerve jolts? What can I do about it?

Hi. I have too experienced nerve jolts. My doc told me I have trigeminal neuralgia, a nerve disorder. I was prescribed with Carbatrol. The way how anti-seizure drugs work is not really understood, but many of them block pain signals from damaged nerves. You have many new anti-seizure drugs now. Some of them are really effective, such as Gabapentin, Lamotrigine, Pregabalin, Tiagabine and Topiramate. Gabapentin is usually the first drug prescribed for people with nerve jolts.
