I've been currently hooked on painkillers such as Lortab, Percocet off and on for awhile now and it sucks. The hardest part is quitting cold turkey, ive accepted the fact that i want to quit but it's harder than others say. I'm just on here looking for help or guidance on what to take to help the symptoms of withdrawl and to share my story with others. I currently have no insurance and can't just go to the emergency room or doctor whenever i feel the need to. I have heard of old school remedies such as taking tylenol and benadryl but neither of these have helped me so far yet. It's a horrible thing to get on these pills cause the opiates take control of your brain, its all mental. But anyway i'd appreciate any help or information i can get. Thanks

I was addicted to codiene for 15 years.. I was taking 50 8mgs per day!!!!!! I was so sick of it that a month ago I quit cold turkey and yes It is the worse thing I have gone through.... I still suffer from which they call post term withdrawl that can last up to 3 mos!!!! But here is how I got thru the acute part... I took Immodium for Diareah...gravol for nausea (but take at night as it makes you sleepy)a antihistimine for runney eyes, nose plus it helps settle your stomach and induces sleep...I took benadryl. One thing I think helped trmendously was I bought a herbal liver detox and it does give you diareah(but you have it anyway),,, it gets rid of all the toxins in your body faster...Imagine what a 15 year build up I had!!!! I could tell it helped right away...my sores from opiates cleared up within 3days no exaggeration.....you will pee alot so make sure you drink tons of water or get some juice with elecrolites in it (can be bought at any pharmacy just ask pharmacist...they may even give you pedialyte. After my acute withrawls I was experiencing terrible anxiety which I take clonazepam (this has to be prescribed) but its cheap and doctors are pretty good if they know you are suffering from anxiety! I also had absolutely no energy and I mean nil... So I take a vitamin b complex...folic acid but the one thing that was suggested and REALLY worked for me was Advil Cold and sinus NONDROWSY formula it has pseudoephedrine in it which gave me back my energy...I have to take quite a few but will taper off month 2 and 3 but it isn't addictive...So I am finally back working my 2 jobs......I hope some of this helps as I feel so much for you and understand ....let me know how it goes... My name is Brontilane...good luck you can do it!!!!!!!!!
