Ive been taking methadone for four years now.. Im only 22. Im supposed to be taking 40mg a day but have myself down to 10 or 20 mg at the most a day. i have the 10 mg pills prescribe to me so can take them whenever i want. I just cant imagine my life without them.. im hoping someone can give me a little inspiration or something here because im very worried about the withdrawl i have a child to take care of and cant just lay around for a week. Are the withdrawl symtoms that bad? I hear that people take xanex and kalanopen but i dont like the way it makes me feel. did anyone ever get off them and stay off??? I just want to live a normal life.. idk can anyone help me ??

Hello Kailyn.....I know EXACTLY how your feeling all too well!!! I was on a methadone clinic for 11 years and 1 year of pain management...I went from 360mgs a day(not a typo) , went cold turkey and went thru HELL, ended up in the ICU, speach impaired, etc...HORRIFIC, but I got beyond the methadone and was off it from May until October, after I was discharged from being in the hospital for 9 weeks! I was a mess....In a nutshell..I managed to get from a place I thought I was doomed to be for life and I wasn't! Being off opiates is soo worth it just from waking up every day and the first thing that pops into my mind isn't how or where will I get my fix? It is possible to live life without opiates, and you can do it!!  Just keep on pushing thru it and I swear to you there is a light at the end of that dark tunnel!!! I wish you well!!!!
