I had a uterine biopsy about 6 yrs ago and it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Last week, I had to have another uterine biopsy due to irregular periods and heavy bleeding. This time, the dr gave me vicodin and xanax to take before the procedure. Additionally, I took a medication to dilate my cervix. Still, all this ony reduced my pain by maybe 30%.
From everything I read, it's supposed to be a fairly painless procedure with some mild cramping. My pain feels like a sharp knife cutting through me, and it's almost unbearable.
I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Any clue as to why this is happening? I had surgery 2x about 10 yrs ago for endometriosis. Wondering if that's playing a part.
