Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me out here. When do symptoms of PTLS start? After 15 months after my tubal I started having severe panic attacks/anxiety. I do not suffer from any of the menstrual irregularities. MACA supplements REALLY HELP A LOT. I had my tubal in December of 2004 at the age of 34.5. I will be 38 in a few months. Doctors wanted to put me on Zoloft and birth control but I said NO WAY. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if all of this is the result of the tubal or not. Thank you for the ears

Although tubal ligation shouldn't interfere with the production of sex hormones (especially decline), many women report experiencing menopausal symptoms following tubal ligation. Anxiety and depression could be a sign of hormonal decline (estrogen).

I wouldn't start antidepressants right away either. if you understand (and confirm by testing) that your symptoms are caused by tubal ligation, you may seek second opinion to check if small doses of antidepressants may be useful in getting rid of your troubles. I hope you get better soon. Don't let it take you over.

I am goingthrough the same thing. Had my tubes tied in 95 and developed anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia in 2000. It stinks. I think doctors should be made by law to tell women this can happen.

I got my tubes tied in 2010 I was 27 years old I am now 29.
17 months after my tubal I started having very very very bad anxiety attacks that would last all day cray mood swings and crying for no reason doctor put me on birth control pill and wanted to give me anxiety/anti depressant medication but I said no but I might have to take medication since my anxiety wont go away and it has been 25 days having all of these emotions that I cant take it anymore I have even thought of killing myself because I cant take it anymore.

Don't do that! I understand how you feel! I had a tubal in April 2006, by February 2007 I started having panick attacks and then full blown anxiety which lasted for 2 years. I was convinced I was going crazy. I have been to multiple specialist and have been on all kinds of different meds. I am just now hearing about PTLS and it sounds like or at least similar to what has happened to me. I too thought about ending my life because there was no answer and it pushed me beyond what I could handle. 5 years have gone by like this and it has robbed my life, but i have found new life despte the living hell i was in. There is hope...

hunny I feel for you deeply. I had never been on birth control before and I was given the Mirena within the first year I started having severe panic attacks I let it go for a year before it started taking over my whole life I struggle with it still to this day although removing the birth control did help tremendously I became terribly fearful of having another attack that it became an anxiety of its own. See if your doctor will give you lorazapam as a mother of three I didn't want to be medicated but this med is a as needed or emergency pill and just having it made me fell so much better I have rarely had to take it and its just knowing that if you do have a panick attack there is a way out that makes everything a little easier to get through. Just knowing that I have them incase made me not even have to take them but if I did it just takes everything away and calms everything down almost instantly Good Luck and I hope this helps

Im 28 and have 1 ovary. I had mine done in 2015 and shortly after had a very bad panic attack and sinve than its everyday anxiety for no reason. Ive forgotten what it feels like to not have anxiety. I was given seroquel but all it does is just make me sleepy doesnt take away the anxiety. And ive been taking it since aug 2016 and still nothing.. Im thinking about getting it reversed just to see if itll give me some relieve.
