Partial Hysterectomy.. I Need Info Please!!!

That is the good thing about a PARTIAL hysterectomy, it does not cause the same symptoms as a full hysterectomy.

You should not have too many problems because your ovaries are still in =)

I had a partial hysterectomy 10 years ago at the age of 31. I noticed changes in my body almost immediately after surgery. My sex drive diminished considerably. It's almost as if my head is saying "yes", but my body says "eh, I could care less". I have also had mood swings that are getting worse as I get older. Another doctor (not my gyno) diagnosed me as having dysthymia which is a mild form of manic depression. I am now on an antidepressant. I've also had unexplained weight gain. Up until my surgery, I never weighed more than 155 lbs. Within probably a year after my surgery, I gained another 45 lbs. which I have been unable to lose. Make sure you talk to your gynocologist if you experience any changes after your surgery and have him/her do a hormone level test.

Hi I just had a partial hysterectomy and was very scared about the sexdrive stories! Good news my first ovulation and I am ready to go! If your surgery is necessary like mine don't worry it hasn't chaned my modds or hormones

Hi I had a partial Hysterectomy almost 4 weeks ago. I had very minor discolored vaginal discharge for the first week. I have had no bleeding or discharge since. I went for my checkup today and am not released to have sex for another week because there are still stitches inside that have not disolved. I have never really cared about sex,but have to say I am looking forward to being able to do it again!

Hi, I too have had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and it has not affected my sex drive I think it is alot to do with your state of mind and I dont reget the surgery as now I can live life without the pain and discomfort I lived with for years before
