I had a partial hysterectomy little over a year ago and I 'm still spotting once a month but only for about a day or two. Still have my cervix. I have asked a couple different doctors if spotting was normal. One doctor says its normal and the other says that it's not normal. Why is the spotting still happening and what should I do about it?

Hi, Melanie,
Wish I could answer your question. I had my partial hys. in March ('10). After still getting spotting for a while, saw my ob/gyn in summer and he advised me he needed to "re-cauterize" my cervix. Did in office, rather unpleasant. Yet I STILL get spotting too. Much better than I was before the hysterectomy but still a nuisance. I don't think I'm sick, I just think there are some things the medical community cannot address. Ar least you know you have company.
