Hello I am 25 and up till last may I was pretty regular when it came to my period. Then in April 2010 I had a period then did not have one again till late October. And ever since then it has been a constant thing. I had my period the last week in October then it stopped for 2 days then it came back and lasted for 10 days. Then I had about a 3 day break and it came back and it has been doing this steady since October. I ended last Friday and then today I started again. I am really getting annoyed because I can not plan when it is going to come anymore. I used to have cramps but now since this started in October I don't have cramps or anything I will go to the bathroom and tada there it is. It is not even really a heavy period it is fairly light, and the first few days it is more brownish then it goes to the normal color. I don't know what is going on and I don't know what to do. I am at the end of my rope because I will end and think "finally I am done and it will go back to normal" but then a few days later I will start again. Since October I have had 8 or more periods because of the frequency of it. PLEASE HELP!

Hi! I read that there are a few different reasons why a woman might be experiencing frequent menstruation, and some can be more serious than others. There are times when menstrual problems are caused by a psychological issue, but most of the time frequent menstruation and other oddities in the monthly cycle are related to something physical. Anxiety, stress and excess worry have been known to affect the menstrual cycle. Any of these issues may cause the period to come earlier than usual. If there is any type of fluctuation or change in a female’s hormone levels, whatever the cause may be, then it will almost always affect the timing of the period. Hormones can be affected by any number of different circumstances. You should probably see your gynecologist. Take care.
