Hello, I need an answer to this little question.
I had my first period a month and a half ago and I thought my second came this morning. It came first thing in the morning but by lunch time it was gone. Was this a period?
If not what was it?

when you first start your periods they will be very irregular.
A girls periods won't settle into a regular steady monthly cycle for a few years after she has been having them. So don't worry.
When you have just started your periods, they will be very unpredictable, sometimes they come twice a month, other times you might go months without one! some will be heavy, some will be so light you hardly notice them!
Eventually they begin to get closer and closer until they are coming at a regular interval every month. This is usually when she is about 16 or 17.
so there is nothing to worry about, this is totally natural (unless you've been having unprotected sex, don't do that!)

Thanks for the info. I'd just like to know though. It seems to have been coming for a few hours the last few days, is this just counted as irregular?
And also how am I supposed to know when it will because it keeps coming at different times of the day.

Yes this would be irregular bleeding,
because your periods will be irregular for a time, its best to keep some towels/tampons in your bag in case you come on unexpectedly, because it will be difficult to know when you are going to come on at first, although you might feel some slight cramps before you come on so you have a little time to get to a toilet
(although I didn't start getting cramps until I had been on my period for a few months, everyone is different!)

Yeah it is ... I was the exact same way two years ago sometimes it would last for a full week others for an hour it was very frustrating .... So I used a tampon and just kept it in for a day when it was on and off it was so much more comfortable and order free and save me the stress of leaving class have to check frequently ! Hope this helps

You probably are spotting and getting ready to start your period. In other words, that was not your period, but only "pre-starting."

Hello.
Experiencing sudden heavy bleeding, especially with large clots, can be concerning. Various factors could contribute to this phenomenon, including but not limited to hormonal fluctuations, certain medical conditions, medications, and other external factors.
Some potential causes include menstrual irregularities, miscarriage (if there's a possibility of pregnancy), fibroids, polyps, hormonal imbalances, certain contraceptives, and others. If you're adamant about not seeking immediate medical consultation, consider monitoring your symptoms closely, noting the duration, volume, and any accompanying symptoms.
If the bleeding recurs, becomes prolonged, or is accompanied by other severe symptoms such as dizziness, pain, or fatigue, it's essential to reconsider and seek medical attention. Remember, self-diagnosis and treatment can be risky. It's always best to consult with a healthcare provider to ensure safety and proper care.
