Here's the situation. I recently switched from using the pill, which I've been using for about five years, to condoms. I stopped taking the pill at the end of a pack and got my period starting around July 10th. Obviously, for a 28-day cycle I'd be considered late by now. Several years ago before I started taking the pill my cycles were pretty long and not very regular. So I'm not sure that I actually am late. It could be some quirk of coming off the pill or readjusting to a natural cycle.
Should I spend the money on a pregnancy test now or should I just be patient and wait? I'm thinking it's pretty damn unlikely that I am pregnant since the failure rate for condoms is about 3% a year. I also don't think I'm doing anything that's potentially harmful to a pregnancy now unless Claritin is a bad drug to be taking pregnant. Seriously, I don't smoke, drink or live off caffeine. I take a daily multivitamin. I guess I'm thinking I'm probably not pregnant and if I worry about a long cycle every time I'm going to be going through way to many pregnancy tests. What would you do? Should I wait another week or two and see what happens?
