Had surgery WED. Pain not real bad, but I haven't had BM yet. I have taken stool softners and laxative. no results. I am getting scared. Doctor insisted I should have BM by yesterday. I just have alot of gas. Seem to be bleeding alot today. Normal? I too have the huge swelling. Everyone says that it is normal.

I had the surgery Tuesday and I thought I was so prepared. NOT. I have not had a BM yet and I'm terrified. I've taken stool softeners, eaten lots of prunes and drank lots of fluids to no avail. I'm bleeding lots too and from everything I've read all this is normal, but man it sucks. I had six internal roids and "extensive external hemmorhoids". Just want to feel better. Just looking for some encouragement that it will get better. Thanks.

I just had the surgery on 09/24 and although my post op pain was surprisingly minimal, I developed a small bright red pea sized ball of intense pain on my butt hole that is under such pressure its causing me intense pain. I'm told this is normal but man it hurts, I thought I was going to get lucky but guess not. I have been eating oatmeal pureed fruit and had soup today but it shot right out of me and now i'm sick to my stomach. I have dilauded but have only taken 1 since it did nothing to relieve that high pressure ball of insanity on my butt I'm not taking anymore for fear of constipation. I'm dreading my first firm BM only because of that thing on my butt because I think its going to pop. I had a very large internal removed and he banded 2 others but those bands shot out saturday morning passing gas. Since mine was up higher and I had nothing external I think thats why my pain was not so bad. Seems like a lot of folks suffer for a while but it eventually gets better. I'm going to ask my surgeon tomorrow if he can pop that thing since its the only thing bothering me. I hope your pain goes away ughthepain, seems like all any of us can do is cowboy up and ride it out. Best of luck to you!
