What you are referring to is called Rh Incompatibility. It means that if you are rh negative and the father of the child is positive, there is a chance that your child could be ph positive.
If your child is rh positive, you would need to receive Rhogam, a drug that would prevent your body to creating antibodies against this positive rh.
If the father is positive, a doc will determine what rh is your child (while still in womb) and if it is positive, you would get this Rhogam during pregnancy and then again after delivery.
RH incompatibility doesn't represent a treat to a first pregnancy but to the following ones.
