My boyfriend and I had sex last night and the condom broke. He was behind me and after he had an origasm he pulled out and I felt a drip of fluid on my foot. We went into the bathroom and realized the condom broke wide open at the top. I had semen in me/on me. I then put spermicide inside me. I just finished my period a few days ago. Does anyone know how likely the chances of pregnancy are in this situation? Do you think the spermicide could have still worked by inserting after the fact? It was only about five minutes from the time he came to the time I put in the spermicide. I don't know how quickly it can happen. My next period isn't due until around June 9th which means we are going to be uncertain for three weeks or more. So any information you could share would be great.

it's possible. the spermicide probley helped a little, but you can't be certain that you actually killed any sperm. so, the only thing you can really do is wait until your next period. about a week after your period is when most women ovulate, and sperm can live for days inside of you.
just wait until your next period, and if you don't get it, take a pregnancy test. but remember that stressing about it can cause your period to be late, and i'm pretty sure you will be. so, if you are late, it doesn't automatically mean that you are pregnant. good luck.

its situations like these that the morning after pills are great for....but...because of where you were in you cycle (not likely during those 4 fertile days) and because you used the spermicide afterwards I will say its very unlikely that you have gotten pregnant....but since you are still in that 72 hr window you can go to your nearest pharmacy and purchase the morning after pill just to be sure if you like.
Maybe also consider getting on the regular pill for the future because even without condoms you are 99% protected against pregnancy with the BCP....(but you should still use condoms for STD reasons -plus that makes you super protected. Good luck and as I said I am pretty confident you dont have any reason to worry. Take care :)
