Am 42 and my period has been late by 2weeks plus and I have been experiencing symtoms of pregnancy but tested negative to a prenancy test. Could i be experiencing menopause or perimenopause?

It could be perimenopause but it could also be something,.......without an apparent cause. We sometimes experience menstrual problems that even doctors can't figure out the causes. They always say to see them if we experience menstrual problems three months in a roll.

You are at the age when you are likely to experience period irregularities due to gradual hormonal decrease (perimeonpuase). This could go on for ten years or so.

If you tested negative two weeks after your last unprotected intercourse, then you are probably not pregnant.
