I'm 45 and had a vasectomy just 2 years ago, but after reading about all the pregnancies post vasectomy I don't trust it and still use condoms when my wife is between days 5 to 22 of her cycle.

17 years is a long time for a vasectomy things could have er repaired themselves. Unless your SO has been being checked every year since he had it, you don't know it held

Were your home tests negative or positive?

You're supposed to wait 3 months for unprotected sex after a vasectomy right? Maybe that's why?

So last week I took a pregnancy test and it said it was positive. My hubby had a vasectomy 10 years ago. Last week when I was suppose to have my period I had discharge and tender breast. This week I don't. I wondering if it is possible this a chemical pregnancy because of changes to the thyroid medication I'm taking. I had been taking levothyoxine and switched to synthroid and added liothyronine. I have many of the side effects. Can the pregnancy test be a false positive?

me too. My kids are now 14 and 12. Hubby had vasectomy about 12 years ago. I've had crazy heartburn (that I've never had, even in my other pregnancies) - figured it was the "getting older" and less tolerable of stuff. My period was always extremely regular...every 28 days. Always heavy and lasting 7 days. Lately it was extra heavy, but I read that is normal as we get in our mid 40's. I'm going to be 47 in a few months...my husband will be 50...and I've never missed a period ever (except when pregnant) - I missed November, and soon to be December if it doesn't happen soon. I am SO HOT at night - I get cold and sleep in pants/long sleeve and eventually wake hot and kind of sweaty, which I figure is my extra clothes (we moved to cold area) - so anyway...all this sounds like perimeno...but it's weird to miss almost 2 months that seems too early for a 46 year old. But my breasts don't hurt...just heart burn, and smells bug me. Told my daughter her breath was smelly and to use mouth wash. then I've been reading all these pregnancy cases of same boat I'm in. A lot of men after the big V - 7 to 10 years later, something grows back...the woman is preggers again. sigh**

I am a very similar situation. I am 38 years old. My period was every 28 day but over the past 6-8 months my period has been every 18-22 days. my last period was 7/13, therefore I am 8 days late. my husband had a vasectomy 2.5 years ago in Jan 2016. he had a clear test 6months post op. I am wondering if I am experiencing perimenopause or if I should take a pregnancy test.
