Why is it so difficult to private message someone?
I have members ask me frequently how they can private message me because no one can figure it out. When you do a search for a user, their username is clickable in the list of associated posts to bring you to their profile, then you can message someone right from there - so why isn't that feature available in the general boards? Make usernames a link everywhere to see that user's profile!!! It is so many steps right now to message a user...can we get a fix?

Well in every post near the user name and a profile picture there is a small yellow envelope. For PMs you just need to click on that small yellow envelop.

@dark_red - I also do not have an envelope! Is it hiding somewhere - or an option I need to activate? Definitely no envelope anywhere though, unless I go into the users profile!

It seams that only board administrator can see this envelop. I will see with system administrator what can be done.
The red color means that topic has many replies and yellow means that topic contains a new message since your last visit to that topic.

Unfortunately, we had a lot of complaints from members who received unsolicited private messages as well as emails in the past, and we decided to disable access for regular members in order to protect them from possible spam. We are aware that this option could be very useful for isolated and private communication, but we are not able to activate it so far until we remove some questionable functions.
We are also working on a brand new system which is going to have more user-friendly functions and some unique and useful tools that will improve interaction between members.
