I am 51 and have had menstrual cycles lasting 28 days (bleeding 5 days) regularly for 40 years. I missed my last period and I wanted the meridia iud inserted (mainly for birth control reasons) my doctor gave me progestrone (?) pills to bring on my period so she could insert the iud. this was 10 days ago that my period started and it is still going. Is this normal? I was under the impression the with meridia in place my periods would soon dissappear. What's up?
