Well since every woman is different there may not be a 100% correct answer for you here.
Periods can be tricky, they can last for 24 hours to 2 weeks plus depending on your hormonal levels, stress and over-all health.

Other than having your period, how do you feel in general? Do you have any pain? (I mean other than regular cramps) Can you visually see that you are swollen? Do you have a family history of female problems?

I would give it a couple days, trying to relax and allow your body to do what it needs to. BUT if you are concerned, going back to the doctor may be a very good idea. He/she will be able to put your mind at ease some.

Good luck!

i had a leep procedure done on aug 6th and then started my period on august 14th and there is no sign of it slowing down anytime soon, which my periods are usually about 4 days long, i called my doctor and she said everything effects people differently... she said some people will have a normal period some will come late or early and some could have extended periods... what im guessing its the same for you, it just depends on how your body reacts... if you are stressed about anything it can effect you... so try and stay calm, also i would maybe just call and get your doctors opinion.... thats what i did and it calmed me down, to hear my doctor say that i was fine!
