My husband has a reoccurring problem where he gets this tightness and pain about 1 in the morning. He's throwing up for several hours and only after he's reached a point where concentrated acid is coming up, does the pain and tightness release. It's usually an all-night ordeal. It used to happen every once in a while, but now it's happening several times a month. We were thinking it might be related to his hypothyroidism, but his levels have normalized and it's still happening. Esophageal issues run in his family and we didn't know if that had anything to do with it. We could really use some answers. He is 45, not overweight, and in generally good health.
