I have noticed some questions regarding repeated bladder infections and interstitial cystitis. IC is not a bladder infection. It is an inflammation of the bladder wall that does not respond to antibiotics. I have had IC since 1994 and, while IC is not curable, you can find meds that will eliminate the pain. If your urine has bacteria in it, antibiotics will work. If you have pain and frequency and there is no bacteria present, then you should be tested for IC. Fortunately, more doctors are educated about this disease and help is available.
