Hi,
I was diagnosed with ADD 4 years ago (taking adderall 15mg) but I've had this feeling like there is just "something more"
I read about Aspergers last week and I've done extensive research on it, seeing as I embody many of the symptoms. I did have a question about the "talking excessively" symptom. Does this only happen in situations where they are comfortable? or even in uncomfortable situations (such as talking to peers).
Also, I was wondering if there are any online tests out there that are truly reliable. I've taken like 3 of them so far and they all said I had aspergers... but i don't really want to trust them.
a list of the symptoms I think I have:
-Horrible conversationalist
-always looking 'behind my back'
-never get jokes until way late
-get really nervous when I'm about to talk to friends (even when I've known them for over a year)
-get even more nervous when someone I don't know enters the conversation
-extremely shy
-feel wierd when I walk... like slightly off-balance all the time (this is wierd b/c I play sports where I have to be super coordinated...but I guess the coordination in sports comes with enough practice)
-when I don't retrict what comes out of my mouth it sounds really... fancy... and strange for my age
-found myself saying something and expecting people to "know what I'm thinking" and ask a question about it----if that makes sense?
Well... that was a long question, so even if you can only answer portions or have general advice... GREATLY APPRECIATED.

My brother has Aspergers, and has no problems talking to people. It's knowing what to say and when to say it that is the problem. Talking excessively happens under all circumstances, he's not more comfortable with any anyone, he doesn't have those kind of social connections. And he'll talk even if the person he's talking to doesn't have any interest in what he's saying. Do people constantly tell you to stop talking (you're having a conversation with them but they aren't having one with you). You're probably not an aspie if you're constantly looking behind your back, you just wouldn't care if you really were.
