Hi all. First I want to tell you that I think that you’re the best! That is why I decided to come here to seek for help / advice. So, this is what bothers me. After having a very successful bunionectomy on my right big to I was able to run without pain. It was just fine. But, one day after I ran, I was rear-ended on the freeway and my right foot was on the brake, barefooted. So, I’ve had a sesamoid stress fracture from that. It’s been six months and I still can't walk without pain!!! So, I went to doc who is suggesting removing the sesamoid. Has anyone had this done? How successful is it? I am very concerned because, before all this, I was a power walker and hiker. Any suggestions, hints and/or experiences will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

From what you’ve told us, I think that having it removed is the best thing to do. I mean, if you have tried all treatments to heal it first. Has your doctor done anything to treat it? If not, then ask him to try, before finaly deciding to have surgery. If you’ve already tried it, and nothing helped, than the surgery is right thing to do. I think that it is quite safe and simple. Good luck!!!
