I'm 20 years old and I just recently have been getting very bad stomach pains about 1 to 1 1/2 miles into my run, the pain is so bad that I have to stop. And it doesn't go away until about 3 minutes of walking. And then if I try to start up again, they come right back, no matter how slow I'm going. The pain is right below my ribs, either in the middle, left or right side, but never all at the same time.
I've tried eating less before I run, drinking more, drinking less, I've tried differen't breathing patterns but the pain doens't seem to be related. And I'm almost never tired or short of breath when the pain comes.
any information would be great,
thanks!

i used to have this problem and i went to the doctor about it. Its caused when you aren't drinking enough water or you don't exercise regularly. In turn the real reason is because your stomach is full of poop... and or gas. They just had me take a laxative or two and i was fine after. Gross... but it worked.

did the doctor say it could be anything else? I actually tried this, took a laxative and while the laxative worked the cramp still came back after a mile.

Laxatives seem really harsh, I would assume most would cramp like that. I have heard it is because your not regular
