I'm on birth control and have been since August 2010. I'm not taking them so I'll have a period every 3 months but once a month like a normal period. Would it be safe to have sex with a condom and sponge on the off week of my pills (of course when I'm done with my period)? I'm a Sunday starter pill so I couldn't take my pill until Sunday of the next week and would like to know if my risk would be higher doing it that week or should I just avoid having sex on the off week altogether?

You didn't say what type of birth control pill you're on but...
Most packs are 21 days of hormone and then 7 days of reminder pills, without the hormone. You can have sex and are protected as it is past when you would have ovulated, so the egg would not be viable.
No higher risk.
