i got sterilised in september and then found out in december that i was 16 wks pregnant, therefore i must of been 3-4 wks pregnant when they done the op. Should they have tested me for pregnancy before going ahead, or do they just have to take my word for it? %-)

I would think that the doctor would have known something was up beforehand. Before undergoing any procedure in or out patient, there is tests and bloodwork done. Just asking the patient is not enough. You got sterilized for a reason, that being you didn't want children. I would look into this a bit further, you may be able to hold the doctor liable.
