I am 83 years old and use a walker -- decompressive laminectomy left me lame in July 2004. About 6 months ago, my fingers started to get bumps on them followed by extremely sore fingertips, which I still have.
What can I do to relieve them? I take Tenormin for high blood pressure, an Ambien to sleep, but no other medications. I drink 1 cup of instant coffee a day. What is happening to me?

Hello there! First of all, I have to say that I am amazed by your age and your knowledge of using a computer. My father’s only 53 and he can only check his email, but my mom can’t even turn it on. Congratulations!

Anyway, back to your problem. Can you give us more specific description of the bumps on your fingers you mentioned? Are they under skin bumps or superficial? What color are they, etc? What is their size? What fingers are afflicted the most?

Have you had them checked already? What did the doctors suggest?

My mum also has a condition where by her fingertips are swollen (as though inflamed) + harding of fingers. Over the years, her fingers actually shrunk in length. Doctor said it has something to do with her blood condition (clot easily) but they can't exactly dignose it either. Medication is expensive and i really want to know what might be the cause of her condition. Please help me out.

My fingertips get cold and blue, and I don't have any feeling in them in the mornings. As the day progresses they get better. What is going on?
