Hi there! The very early sighs are constant pain and stiffness in the low back, buttocks and hips that continue for more than three months. Spondalytis may also affect some of the ligaments and tendons that are attached to bones. AS it is a systematic disease, spondalytis symptoms may not be limited to the joints. Patients may also develop fever, fatigue and loss of appetite. Eye inflammation (redness) occurs in about one-fourth of patients with spondylitis. There could be lung and heart problems as well. It is not known what causes it, but there is a heredity link.
