Were your periods on time before this month? Spotting can have many causes – from changes in levels of your hormones because of stress or strong emotional events, to more serious conditions like polycystic ovaries syndrome. PCOS also causes irregular and painful periods. If you haven’t been under any unusual pressure last month and you don’t have PCOS, your spotting could also be caused by infection, like Chlamydia or vaginitis. These infections can be present for quite some time and don’t show any symptoms. Vaginitis includes few sorts of infections like yeast or bacterial infection. If you think there might be a reason to suspect that you might have infection you should see your doctor as soon as you can – they can leave consequences on your fertility.
