So I'm eighteen, and I still want to grow(I'm 6' by the way) is it still possible? I just started weightlifting about 6 weeks ago and already benching around 130-140, including the bar. Is that too fast to lift so much? Would stretching help me reach my maximum, expected growth which is I think 6' 3"? I've noticed my back will tremble while I do shoulder press when I first started that, but not much anymore, just when I'm on my last reps of a set. I like to push myself, but should I slow it down?

Hi J,

If you are using proper techniques then it should not be an issue.  Slow and easy is the best way to go.

Pushing yourself is fine, to a point.  Know your limits and when to take a break.

I can't stress it enough, make sure you use proper form.  It will help prevent injury.

Hope it helps.

Your height depends on your genes, you can still grow, it will only stop when you reach the age of 21. If you are hurting yourself on the process of exercising, you are doing something wrong. You should warm up first before doing any exercises.

I am using dumbbells regularly and I adjust the weights base on my capacity.
