Hello, I'm 22 years old and I have the same feeling of a hot needle stinging me in random places over my body particularly when I am hot, exercising or nervous. I have only just done a google search on it and I'm amazed to find out that so many other people have the same feeling and we can't find a cure. I've done a bit of research on the sensation and it seems to me that it is a nerve condition called peripheral neuropathy. It is highly likely that I could have this condition as it runs in my family and can be genetically inherited. Peripheral neuropathy can also be a symptom of coeliac disease which also happens to be in my family. Coeliac disease is an allergy to wheat. I used to be really strict about not eating wheat (I was diagnosed with intolerance) but have been a bit slack for the last 2 years since travelling to Europe (it was too hard - they eat so much bread, etc!). Co-incidentally this feeling has only been bothering me for the last 2 years...probably a clue do you think? I guess I'll have to be strict about my wheat-free diet (and it is hard because basically all processed foods have some sort of wheat in them) and see if that makes a difference. I don't suggest that you all go off wheat but you never know, it could make a difference!

Sounds like a form of cholinergic urticaria (urticaria is fancy medical lingo for hives).   When you get too hot, or you exercise, or have strong emotions, anxiety, nervous, excited, you itch and or sting like a son of a gun.  You sting because the condition is believed to be related to a neuro-transmitter called acetocholine (I've been told that's why wasp stings hurt so much, because they also contain a form of acetocholine). You're skin will usually break out in tiny pinpoint sized hives, which don't even have to be raised, just look like red dots...and flushing red of the skin.  Or you can just have the flushing redness and no hives or red dots.   It's a very common condition, particularly in your teens and twenties.  Unfortunately there is no cure and the condition can last several years.  Anti-histamines can help but acclmating to heat and vigourous exercise to deplete your natural histamine stores on a daily basis seems to be the most beneficical form of symptomatic treatment.   Unfortunately for me, I suffered with this for over 8 months before I had any clue what I had, and a further 3 months before I had an official diagnosis.  It's so damn common, just google it, and yet most doctors are utterly clueless and very little research is done to find a cause, let alone a cure.

I experienced the same problem after having anaphylaxis allergic reactions and given steroid shots numerous times via emergency room/ambulance rides. The stinging occurred regularly in different areas throughout the body. I later read about Garlic Pills. As a result, taking Garlic Pills has stopped the stinging problem and has stopped the allergic reactions from occurring.

The same thing happens to me with temperature changes or stress. One day several years ago I was riding my dirt bike on a day with a heat advisory. After I was done I thought my back was sunburned and blistered. There was no sunburn but my whole back was covered in one large painless blister that just peel off. It felt like all the pours unclogged. It's been several years since that happened and it now is back even waking me up at night when I sleep. I mentioned it to the doctors and they look at me like I'm crazy and tell me it's my laundry soap. I know it's not. Let me know if you find anything out

This sounds like a problem I have some times. I get a stinging like feeling on all over my body when I am active and get hot, more so in the winter under warm clothes.

The problem is a dry skin, where by the skin breaks slitely and the salty sweat gives you the stinging sensation. Therefore, get mosturised and hydrated. use moisturised shower/bath creams or so on.

Hope this helps

Excuse my poor English.

I had the same thing the cause is stress. My solution was to move as far away from my family as possible as they were the ones causing the stress. Rarely feel the pains now and when i do its very mild. hope this helps.

This is caused by stress, the only thing to do is to slowly eliminate the stress causing factors in your life.
