I am a 34 years old and I have been feeling pain in my stomach for some time now. It is not severe pain, it feels like discomfort and it just won't stop. I am afraid to go to doctor, because my mother died of ovarian cancer when I was 5. What if something is really wrong with me?

The fact that your mother died of ovarian cancer and that you are feeling discomfort in your abdomen is enough for you to go to doctor. I can't tell what is wrong with you. In order to do so I would need to examine you. However, it is important for you to understand that all conditions have greater chance of curative treatment when they are detected early. I can give you some information about ovarian cancer, and if you recognize some symptoms, please go to your doctor. One of the most common ovarian cancer symptoms is abdominal swelling or bloating. This bloating is usually caused by ascites. One more symptom of ovarian cancer is abnormal bleeding. In most cases, this bleeding occurs in post-menopausal women where all bleeding should be reported to doctor. I will say it again, go to your doctor because maybe you have a chance to prevent something of happening.

Don't be scared to go checked out. The SOONER the better, like the doctor responded. I have been feeling abnominal pain since I got pregnant seven years go and I am now 32 years old. Right after I had my baby I took several different tests and thank god all came back negative the doctors couldn't pin point why I have this pain, the best way to descibe is like a sharp pain, a little flutter ( I guess it could be spasaming)up to know I still have this pain even after my second child. Through both of my pregnancies I was miserable. Curious to see if I would have the same pain through my second pregnancy sure enough, maybe even worse. My O-byn suggested I go see a physical therapist I did, to my surprise she says "you definetly have a pulled ligament", I thought it made sense since the tests were coming out negative and that was 2 years ago. It turned out that the doctor says no way that can't be it. Well, most recently like 3 weeks ago my dr referred me to go have a colonoscopy done, I was like what!, no way I'm to young to have one done, I'm not 50 yet, After all the doctors I've seen she's the first and only to refer me to go have one done, well I did it I called to set up an appt and the receptionist says how about next Tuesday, like 5 days later, I said to myself I don't want to do this I'm too scared but I really wanted some answers and of course I didn't want to hear the worst like "we found cancer", I was terrified, but I went through with it all, and Thank God,
NO CANCER!!, what the conclusion was is I have spasams in my intestines, and the doctor percribed Donnatal or Belladonna (Generic Brand), it really seems to be working. Final conclusion, Go do what you have to do EARLY before it's too late. So you all know the tests I took was Hida Scan, Ultra sound, and Endiscope which by the way they did along with the colonoscopy.
Anway, if any questions feel free to reply

I was a nervous kid all through Elementary school. You probably have a bad case of 'Nervous Stomach'. If you feel like you wanna puke and you can't, well that's probably a nervous stomach. Try to be light hearted and relax with things. It only gets BETTER!!

Hi, I'm 18 and I have been suffering from stomach discomfort for i think almost a year, its this feeling like a heavy discomfort, like a big ball that is in my stomach kind of feeling, these unknown symptoms cause me not to have an appetite cuz of the feeling of discomfort(stomach and abdominal). I've gotten to notice its becoming a daily habit, mostly because when i dont have an appetite, my mom would ask me like 20 times "do you want some to eat", and i would always get pissed, because meanwhile i tell her i dont feel well, and that im not that hungry, or not hungry at all, she would verbally ask me that question, and i feel like shes trying to force me to eat, i mean this is making me paranoid, i end up thinkin i have a terrible disease or something, i even think to much about it(this makes my discomfort worse), when i think too much about it i get an upset stomach, like when you're scared to death, im really worried,a nd im afraid to find out what it is, PLEASE, !!! IF ANYONE HAS THESE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS. PLEASE MESSAGE ME MY EMAIL IS _[removed]_

I'm 15 and I have suffered with stomach acts since I was 7 years old.
Try going to a Gastroentrologist;they can really help you sometimes.
For now, lay off spicey foods & stay on a bland diet-this can help!
You may have IBS...but I'm no doctor... Just try to stay calm.
IBS just makes you have stomach aches, soft stool, ect. Look it up on the Web. You can get some more information that way.

Hi,
I am allergic to gluten and very similiar symptoms to those described above for many years. Since cutting gluten from my diet I have experienced a new lease of life. Always go to your doctor ASAP - bad news isn't nice but the earlier you get it the better chance you have of getting well sooner! Plus it may not be all that bad anywise!
In addition to seeing your doctor - keep a record of what you're eating and any effect this has on your stomach etc.
Deep breathing and other relaxation techniques can also really help with digestive complaints.
Hope that helps...x

I'm nineteen and I experienced a really bad stomach ache a few days ago about 30 minutes after eating Spaghetti, but the sauce was really spicy. I thought it was just because I've never eaten spicy foods before, but the next day, it hurt even worse. I had diarrhea (really bad case of it) and cramps. They continued onto the next day as well. I also had cheese with it too; I think I maybe lactose intolerance ? Because sometimes when I drink milk, I get a stomach ache (I know the milk is good though, so I'm confused)

I felt a heavy feeling in my stomach. I wouldn't call it a pain, just discomfort. There was no real pattern that I could see either. What do you think?
