The Mirena coil is hormonal, and hormonal contraceptives are indeed associated with spotting blood at "odd" times. My first thought is that this spotting is related to the Mirena's hormones, but coils can also sometimes go AWOL in your reproductive system so I would definitely get that checked out.
I don't think it's related to the TVT operation, at least I thought any bleeding from that occurred during or right after the operation, but I do think previous surgery is another reason to have this checked out in a timely manner.
I hope you see a doctor soon and that everything turns out to be fine.

I hope someone can offer some advice or suggestions.
1. I am experiencing significant swelling in my stomach.
2. I am NOT overweight and have NEVER been pregnant, but I kind of look like I'm pregnant because of the swelling (obvious bulge in my abdominal area).
3. I finished my period about a week ago (So, I couldn't actually "look" preganant, even if I were).
4. I am currently on birth control (just completed the 1st week of the pack).
5. I have been having quite heavy spotting/discharge (dark in color), but noticed last night that I had some bright red blood in the spotting.
6. I am experiencing discomfort in my ovaries and have slight back pain.
Does anyone have any thoughts or recommedations?
Should I go to a doctor ASAP? Thanks so much.
