Sudden jerks/spasms in shoulders and neck.

My daughter is 5 year old and she is facing similar problem, that is jerking of neck to backwards but it lasts only for seconds and she complains me saying the same. I am really wondering what is the problem as my physician also has no proper answer for this.

I have been having neck and shoulder twitches randomly, mostly every day for about 2 months now. Coincidentally it started around the time I broke up with my girlfriend and was quite upset for quite a while and still am. I also have a history of Lyme disease and muscle related issues due to that. But what I find helps the most is actually marijuana. It completely removes these twitches for me, along with eating enough, cutting back on stimulants like coffee and cigarettes and staying rested. I've noticed the more tired I am the more the twitches happen throughout the day also. Hope this helps

I get these a lot too and don't know what it is but I think it's from a drug overdose I had which resulted in a status epilepticus seizure( a seizure lasting longer than 5 minutes usually 20-30) and a seizure lasting up to 5 minutes causes brain damage and I had two consecutive 15-20 minute seizures so mine are probably from brain damage I just haven't went to the dr.

Dude that's exactly how mine are your the only one that has mentioned the shiver down your spine and I do the exact same thing, have you ever been addicted to spice or had any seizures?

I have something similar to this too happening. I refer to them as "Cheizures" (Chill/Seizure). I'm 31 and for the last couple of years I will get these weird sensations that will cause my head to jerk to one side. Like for a second or two I just spasm and can't control the tick. It usually happens about once a day but at random times. I have some spinal issues and have been concerned it was a result of that. But it's pretty strange looking when it happens. Would be interested in knowing if anyone's been diagnosed for these issues

Im 16 and have had the same thing for a acouple of weeks.Myhead jerks to the left 50 degrees and lasts for less than a second.After googling, most likely cause is Cervical Dystonia.

I have the exact same thing.
I'm 13, and for the past year or so at inopportune times, my head will twitch very violently to the left or right without prejudice. Sometimes my shoulders scissor back and forth too.

This has been happenening to me lately and it's starting to freak me out.

I will be sitting in my seat in school copying notes or listening to the teacher, when my head/neck will randomly jerk itself (usually to the left.)

I feel like everyone notices and it's super embarrasing.

This occured a lot during my band, english, and science classes. For example, I was copying notes into my binder and I looked up to copy the next page; only to have my head jerk to the side. It seems to mostly happen when it is silent. I havent been under enourmus amounts of stress lately, but I am definety under a lot of pressure with school.

i have been seeing these twitches in people all around me like people that i know... and the weird part is that they never had these twitches and now they do, and it can be in the legs arms neck shoulder or spine from what ive seen. the age group seems to be aroumd 20 but ive seem adults with it like my mom and my mom never had no dam twitch but now she does. it makes me sad to see the poeple i know and love now have this stupid twitch all the time now that they never had. and i can tell that they dont like it.... i dont know but i do know is that its speadin like a wildfire, it needs more publicity do to urgancy, and there aint no dam doctors perscription thats gonna magicly cure it.... god is the only one helping me bare through this... and i faith in him and pray for all you and the ones i know and love and that we will sooner that later, find an answer
