I had sex for the first time a year ago. No protection which led to pregnancy and I had my child around 6 months ago. I had a catheter during the birth and soon after, had a bladder infection because of the catheter stretching me open. Treated it, and no prooblems since until about a week ago I got this random itch. Scratched it thinking it was nothing. Well it itched more and more throughout the day and became an every day thing. After about 2 days, burning pains came with the itch. Then today I noticed my left side (idk the name) of my parts are ALL very swollen and red. I mean its so swollen it gets in the way of walking and sitting down. I thought it may be the condoms because I never used them before a few months ago when my boyfriend and I were given the okay to have sex by my doctor. But then I realized we haven't had sex in a while...we stopped before I even had this problem actually because we don't have time or privacy. I don't have insurance or money so I haven't called my dr. Yet. Any ideas?

Well i am 31 and dealing with the labia clitoris issues since I was 16. I find that Witch Hazel applied with a cotton Ball helps relieve itching and infection of yeast. If Yeast infection is internal dip tampon into witch Hazel and leave in for ten to fifteen mins when its real bad i add tea tree oil to the mix. diluted with olive oil. Hoping maybe I can help someone who suffers like I do.

I have vaginal burning with no itching, and it doesn't hurt specifically when I urinate, there's no discharge either. It just burns (lib/Clitoris). I am in a serious, monogamous relation so I don't think it's an STI (I just went to the STI clinic for a regular check anyhow, so I will know if it is in a couple weeks). I read online that it could be nerve damage, a sign of cervical cancer, bacteria infection or something as simple as an irritation to a new laundry/wash soap or chaffing. The burning has been around for a couple of days now and seems to be getting worse. What freaks me out is last week I used a public bathroom and sat smack dab on someone's urine!!!! Not my thigh, I was in a rush and wasn't lined up correctly with the toliet and basically landed with my va jay jay right on the pee! Almost puked, and now this. I am going to find a doctor and see what it is going on. I will post back with update.

I have had the same symptoms as a result of taking the antibiotic Bactrim (for UTI & Kidney infection) Both times, within 30 minutes of taking the first dose of Bactrim, I began to have an almost prickly itching, like the nerve endings were on fire. The first time, 3 years ago I assumed it was a yeast infection, as I am very susceptible to them when on antibiotics.... So I treated it accordingly with creams, over the counter remedies. I discontinued the Bactrim immediately but the damage had already begun. 5 days later I had swelling, redness, and lesions in the inner labial area (below my clitoris, on the sides of labia minora). I was in such pain I had to use hydrocodone just to be able to walk, work and urinate. Was tested (twice) for everything under the sun and all came back negative. Finally healed by stopping using all creams and putting corn starch (yes, Corn Starch!) I had peeling around the areas, bleeding of the flat irritated lesions, and horrific pain and swelling in my clitoris/glands/hood.

Fast forward to 3 days ago. I was prescribed Bactrim again for sinus infection. I had the Dr. prescribe Diflucan, as a preventative measure. Took 200 mg of Diflucan in the am and the Bactrim around 4:30 in the afternoon. IMMEDIATELY I began having the SAME prickly, painful itchy symptoms. Made sure NOT to scratch it, put creams on it etc. Took warm bath. Called Dr and his nurse told me "I probably had a yeast infection already." GIVE ME A BREAK. I know what a yeast infection feels like. Did some research on Bactrim and these symptoms are listed under ALLERGIC REACTION to the medicine, which is a Sulfide. I also came across a very dangerous side-effect from taking Bactrim which is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It can be life threatening, and it affects the vagina much like symptoms of a yeast infection, vaginitis etc. Point in case, DO NOT TAKE BACTRIM.

It is now Sunday. I am in horrible pain, and looking for a treatment that does not involve more pharmaceuticals, creams and so on.

I am waiting for my very wonderful Naturopathic Doctor to call me back. I will repost what he says to do, as it will surely NOT be more harmful to my body.

I am 17 years old. I just had my period a week ago, and around that time, i was experiencing slight clitoral pain half way through arousal. Then my boyfriend and i would stop and it would hurt to the touch but then go away. it happened a few times during the period. then after the period, it worsened only slightly, and it became clitoral pain to the touch constantly and has been that way since the end of my period, which ended about five days ago. Two days ago, my boyfriend and i had attempted to have sex (for the first time) since we have trouble trying because i am very tight and he is very big, so we have been taking it little by little to try and loosen me up. Today after becoming a little concerned that the pain did not reside, I looked at it in the mirror and concluded that the hood is swollen and the area is swollen, but the clitoris isn't. there was white discharge under the hood as far as i could see, so i took a bath and stretched the tissue around it to clean it out so i didn't need to touch it as it is terribly sensitive. Now it looks inflammed but not as bad as it did before the bath. I am still very worried because i am afraid that it is some kind of infection. Hopefully it is a symptom from my period or from trying to have sex...but i'm a little scared out of my mind and i can't go to the gyno because he is a friend of our family (how twisted is that?) and it would make me feel extremely awkward, especially if he knew i was somewhat sexually active. i don't know what to do. :-(

Had the same sympthoms and discovered it is an allergic reaction to Clyndamicin that I just started taking.

Clindamycin may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

•nausea

•vomiting

•joint pain

•pain when swallowing

•heartburn

•white patches in the mouth

•thick, white vaginal discharge

•burning, itching, and swelling of the vagina

I hope this helps

I have had similar symptoms for the last 5 months at least. My clitorus has been swollen at least 3 times its normal size if not more. My entire vaginia occasionally gets very red, like chapped lips, but they are still moist. The inside of my vaginia burns randomly and occasionally my clitorus feels like someone is stabbing it with a needle. The skin that is on the inside of my vaginia, directly oposite of where my clitorus is, is very red and swollen as well. Within the last week, the blood vessels on both sides of my clitorus have become extremely swollen, they are deep dark purple and very pronounced. It does not feel pleasant, but only randomly.

Back in October, my vaginia felt like it was on fire, it was litterally eminating heat, I went to the ObGyn and she could feel the heat mid thigh down. She had me give a urine sample and told me I had a bladder infection. Within a week I developed a yeast infection apparently from the antibiotics. I also broke out in hives because apparently I have developed an allergy to sulpher meds.

I had my normal physical in November and it was still really hot and burning but I didnt think anything of it. She ran the usual tests including the standard STD screenings and they also came back negative. I was a new to this ObGyn's practice and I did inform her of my bladder/yeast infection in October.

It was still bugging me in January. It was burning and eminating heat still. It was to the point I was sitting on a bench with a cushion on it at work with a coworker and he eventually could feel the heat from it heating up the entire cushion. At that point I went back to the new ObGyn. She said I was definately inflamed, she told me to cool it with an ice pack, eat yogart, wear no underwear or pants at my apartment, and take 2 ibprofin ever 4 hours for 3-5 days. It worked it seemed, it didnt hurt anymore.

Unfortunately it did not last. I went back again in February to the same practice. This ObGyn said it was swollen but she had seen worse. She told me to take Hydrocortizon cream twice a day and apply it directly to any area that did not seem normal. She told me to do it for 3-5 days and call back if it wasnt better.

It felt better, again. Then it would randomly start hurning, as soon as I put on the cream I felt better but I didn't think that this felt right. I called the same doctor back and she said to try it for 2 weeks, if it didnt feel better to then come back in. Two weeks later, it does feel slightly better, it seems to hurt more in the morning then at night, but the swelling didn't go down, it got worse. I have a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. I will post if she gives anymore suggestions that help. She said that she will probably send me to a specialist next.

Thank you all for posting, reading this made me feel I am not alone.

so i am 14 years old, have had a yeast infection one or two times but quickly went away from using Vagisil. about 3 days ago i was with my boyfriend whom did finger me (sorry a little graphic) but right when he stopped it started hurting really bad but i thought it would go away the next day, but that night i woke up with this burning, itching sensation so i put some Vagisil on it and thought it would heal. still 3 days later ive been putting Vagisil on every morning and night but its not working. the clitoris and around it look very red and irritated and i have had a lot more discharge then usual. and the discharge doesnt exactlly look "clumpy" it just doesnt look white, it looks like it has little tint of reddish brown in there but not much though. can you tell me whats wrong?

Wow, I thought I was the only one too... It's been a month now or just a couple of weeks and it feels sooo bad... I'm only 15yrs old, I had sex the other day, on 3 accounts. I have yeast infection, mines is a lil bad but not that much. I take some type of cream for it. At first I thought it was some type of STD or something, but then I thought thats just crazy. I was thinking that cause my cousin said that when you have yeast infection and have sex you may get Gonnorhea or something close to it (I DNT REMEMBER WHAT SHE SAID). But I used condoms, am strict when it comes on to those kind of stuffs... So now I wanna know what it may be, it itches sooooooooooo much...

By-the-way, my cousin said that am starting to look a lil big and my breast may seem to be growing. I want to buy a pregnancy test tomorrow or maybe even Monday. But I was thinking that I cant be pregnant because I say my period. I was told that havig sex may cause one's body to mature faster am not to all that sure about that (I want to be an Obstetrician so I'm fasinated about these things). Oh and my cousin told me that I can be pregnant and dont even know until the 9months are up cause every woman is different and she said that i can also see ma period too... BTW, I dont believe in ABORTIONS any at all. But knowing my kinda family I wanna know how much does it cost to have one... Any advice or help would nice...

I have similar problems in the vaginal area. Inflammation, burning, pain. After bi-opsy's , creams & steriod shots, soaks nothing seemed to help.

The more creams I used the worse it got. The steroid shots helped the most. This went on for years. I seen many doctors. No answers until I went a dermatologist & got a patch test. I have a nickel allergy. There were several women in the office that day that had the same symptoms. All had a nickel allergy. I recommend having a allergy test. It could change your life:)

I've been exsperincing pain in my under my clitoral hood  and swollen and red as well as labia lips. It hurts when i walk, sit, or even  just laying in bed and its everyday from sunrise to sundown! At first i thought it was a yeast infection because i had exsperienced this before when i was pregnant. my obgyn suggested that it might be yeast infection but she looked at me as if she didn't know what i was talking about and she prescribe me a pill and later cream. she also tested me for a urinary track infection but the results where negative. the creams worked at the time, but two years later and its back again. I've tried to treat it like a yeast infection like last time, but nothing is working. It just seems to be irradiated even more especially after i get out the shower and put underwear and cream on. There's nothing i can do. I feel hopeless and desperate for relief. I have been reading others testimonials with the same story, but it seems their getting the same response as me from their doctors. I have no idea what's going on. I thought i was the only one.

Okay, well I usually do not blog but I just can't help wondering.  My honey was a soldier for the U.S. Army.  He served in Desert Storm.  I too have all of these symptoms with no diagnosis just a bunch of creams, pills and other various home remedy suggestions.  Maybe our honeys have been exposed to something and we are reaping the rewards (NOT) of their exposure.  Maybe this biological/chemical exposure.

Honestly, I don't know but sure do wish we could find some link - something that all of us have been exposed to that is causing this so we can find some cure/relief.

Thoughts?
