my mother has cancer and is in a nursing facility. about a month ago they checked her dilantin level and it was 13 the nujrse on duty couldn't understand why. cause my mother is compliant with her meds and never refuses to take them. yesterday she was taken to a hosp. for a blood clot and her dilantin was 0.0. the physician said they could only be if shes not getting her oral dilantin. she takes it 3 times a day. would anyone know why the counts would be like that. she has only been taking it for less than a year. She has terminal cancer.
