I am 49 years old and have for the last 10 years since having a hysterectomy have had both an oestrogen and testosterone implant. Over the last two months I have become extremely depressed and lethargic, lost interest in most things and have stopped exercising. I have gained approximaly 4 kilos in weight and have started to lose some hair. I thought this was because I needed my oestrogen implant but after having my blood tests they showed that it was my testosterone that was very low. I am due to have my testosterone implanted tomorrow and wondered whether that really could have caused these symptoms so badly. My sleeping patterns have been totally out of whack whereas I am really lacking in energy throughout the day and sleep a lot and therefor wake up around 3:00am every morning and consequently then get tired again during the day and it is a vicious circle. Can you please let me know will the implant solve these problems and how quickly can I expect the implant to take effect as I have never had the testosterone implant done on it's own before as I have always had it implanted at the same time as my oestrogen implant. I look forward to your response.
