So I am on day 2 1/2 of recovery from getting a septoplasty/turbinate reduction, and tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy. I was at the hospital at 6 am on 8/24/17 an was back at home by 12:30 on the same day. Day 1 was really extremely painful when I woke up in recovery it was just unbearable I remember just crying in pain and asking for my husband. They gave me 2 doses of morphine thru the IV which helped an I was able to drink some water, my mouth was so dry. An they gave me a grape popcicle it seemed as soon as I woke up they were rushing me out the door. My husband took me to Walmart to get my scripts well he went in an I slept in the front seat. He also bought me a humidifier for our room. Which helps so much. So my nose bleed pretty bad on the 1st day but halfway thru the second I was able to take the guaze and the thing holding it in place off. An now my nose just bleeds if I am up moving around to much. Yesterday (8/25/17) my throat wasn't bothering me to bad but my nose is what was hurting. Now today (8/26/17) my nose is doing good just a little discomfort. Tho today my throat is pretty badly hurting. My husband said the doctor did say that would happen. Tho some of the throat pain has put me in tears today. I've slept most of the day away. I've ate hello an pudding since my surgery an managed half a pack of ramens yesterday an almost a full pack today. I can say that is one thing of this all is that I am hungry I just can't eat. I tried some mashed potatoes an I could manage a few bites till my mouth started to get dry and they started sticking to my throat. Same with applesauce i was able to eat a little bit but not much. So I'm stick with jello and pudding. Don't have ice cream to try or I'd try it too. An when it comes to liquids I started off with water, yesterday I drank a Powerade, an a part of one today. Now I am trying some warmish tea. Oh an if your wondering the medicine I was sent home with is :
20mg Prednisone(steroid)(take one daily for 3 days, then one-half tab once daily for 2 days)
250mg Cefuroxime(antibiotic)(take one tab twice a day for 7 days)
25mg Phenergan (anti-nausea)(take one tablet by mouth 3 times daily as needed for nausea and vomiting)
120-12/5 SOL Acetaminophen/codine(prescription pain meds)( take 20-25ml by mouth every 6 hours as needed)
Childrens liquid Ibuprofen 100mg per 5ml (over the counter med)(take 3tsb every 3 hours as needed or rotate out with pain meds)
So far these have gotten me thru but the last few days have felt like weeks already. An I go to my ENT on the 29th to get the stents taken out of my nose an all I can say is I hope it don't hurt. But so far this is my experience since my surgery. My ENT said once past the recovery part it will be well worth all the pain of recovery. Now I can say the only thing that could make my recovery better is if my husband was still here helping me. But he had to leave out yesterday to get back to work.

Thank you! I am suppose to have these two surgeries on Monday and have heard nothing but horror stories! I've been scared to death and starting to second guess my decision to have both at the same time, it's good to get some positive feedback
