My wife just had our first child and had been having this pain for several years. She made it through the birth (vaginal), but the remnant definitely made the examinations extremely painful. She will be having the surgery to remove the remnant tomorrow (at 7 weeks post-partum). We aren't looking forward to even more healing, but the OB has reassured us that she will be ok. It's hard to answer the question specific to you as everyone has a different amount of pain from this, and the location of the remnant will probably affect things. You should consult with your OB -- and make sure they take you seriously.

If tag doesn't pain or causes any problem during sex, then is it necessary to get it removed?

Is the hymenectomy getting done and covered by your insurance or is it going to be done by a plastic surgeon? I’ve always heard is was a sort of plastic surgery. I want this done as well but not if it isn’t covered by my insurance.
