I was wondering if others have experienced my symptoms of urethral stinging either right before I need to urinate, but then stops burning/stinging once I urinate, with not burning on stinging after and sometimes stings randomly or when my bladder starts to fill up? Also sometimes feels like my uterers hurt or the urethera that goes higher up into your pelvic area. The stinging actually started while on antibiotics.

On the same token, sometimes my urine stream will be very weak, even though my bladder feels full and like my urine should be bursting out, but doesn't as well as sometimes after I urinate there is this feeling of pressure/fullness that makes me want to push almost like the feeling you get when you have a UTI?

I also get cramping or my bladder feels sore? However, I have also started to get intestinal and colon pain maybe for over 6 months now, usually only happens while on my menstrual cycle where when I need to go, I will have really painful spasms. So hard to tell what is causing the cramping.

But since the urethral stinging started, I have been getting really bad intestinal and colon spasms/cramping/pain on my period as well as just while passing gas or with digesting food.

Urogynecologist felt it was Interstitial Cystitis (excluding the intestinal/colon symptoms), but I am hoping its not Urethritis (which is a bacterial infection that has almost identical symptoms to IC). Seems not many doctors test for it and concerend about a false negative but don't want to take antibiotics unless it really is an infection.

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms? It's been a bit nerve-wracking feeling in the dark for the past 6 weeks and happened to stumble upon this forum. Grateful to see others are in a similar boat and there is support availabe (not that I am grateful you are going through it, too, but you know what I mean ;- ))

Thanks for reading and for any of your insight and experiences shared. I wish you all the best on your healing!

Urethral stinging and intestinal/colon cramps/pain can have many different possible causes, and it's important to see a doctor or healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. However, here are a few potential causes to consider:

  1. Urinary tract infection: Urethral stinging can be a symptom of a urinary tract infection, which can also cause pain or burning during urination and frequent urination.

  2. Sexually transmitted infection: Some sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea, can cause urethral stinging and discharge.

  3. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): IBS is a common digestive disorder that can cause colon cramps, bloating, and changes in bowel movements.

  4. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): IBD, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic conditions that can cause inflammation and damage to the intestinal tract, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss.

  5. Diverticulitis: Diverticulitis is a condition where small pouches in the colon become inflamed or infected, causing abdominal pain and cramping, fever, and changes in bowel movements.

Depending on the cause, treatment may include antibiotics, antiviral medication, anti-inflammatory medication, or other interventions. But that is something your doctor will determine.

Hope you are ok now!
