I have no difinative answer for you but I would consider getting your 25,OH Vitamin D levels above 50 nano grams per ml. Get at least 3 mg of boron. Lots, mabe 2 to 3 grams of fish oil and a concentrated curcumin extract, two 95% 900mg cap or the Life Extention Foundations super absorbable curcumin. Also I would suggest LEF's Vitamin K. D is an extreamly important immune modulator that can reduct (TH-1) mediated inflamation and K can or does reduce IL-6, thought to be a major trigger of autoimmune disease. I have had one major flare of autoimmune pan uvietis in both eyes in 2003 and have been free of the disease since then. Best of luck, Jaeger

If you have a child with chronic uveitis, see a pediatric rheumatologist and more than likely they will prescribe Methotrexate. These are immunosupresant pills taken once a week.

I was treated with cotisone injections on the side of the eyes and it gives great relieve for six to seven months. But ask for the long term 14 month injection. this injection must not be taken for more than once a year.
If you are a christian try being prayed for by a pastor you must believe 100% that you will recover.
Good luck

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with anterior uveitis 1 year ago and started treatment with my othalmologist with steroid eye drops and IOP eye drops. After having 3 flares I decided to do some research on treatment options and found a specialist in Massachusetss. He is one the top specialist in ocular immunology and trains many other doctors around the world. He referred me to a specialist closer to home and I am now being treated. I am not in remission yet as we are trying different drugs to find the right one for me. The ocular immunologist use steroid eye drops in conjunction with immuno suppressers with the plan to take you off the drops eventually and hopes to place the uveitis in remission. My heart bleeds for all of you who have been getting minimal treatment due to your provider having limited knowledge of how to treat this severe disease. I strongly encourage everyone to find a ocular immunologist if you have been diagnosed with uveitis. There are not many of them but well worth finding one near your home if possible and if not make the trip for a consultation before you develop permanent damage to your eye.
I have noticed that some foods exacerbate my symptoms: increase salt, sugar and soda is definently poison. The immunosuppressing drugs do have dangerous side effects but have been used for years and much research has been done; however this is why you need an ocular immunologist who has been trained to use these drugs and follow you closely. There are rheumatologist that use these drugs. Find a specialist soon.

I suggest you go on fish oil, Life Extention curcumin, at least 3 mg boron, enough vitamin d to get blood levels above 50 nanograms per ml, and maybe vit k. Lie out in the sun if you can. There are good reasons for all of these. Jaeger

Hi there,
How is your daughter? Here are some suggestions: A combination of Vitamin C & E daily has helped many people. Also eating Salmon regularly or fish oil daily is very good against inflammations in general because of lots of omega 3 fats. Ginger & Turmeric are natural strong anti inflammatory. You can take them naturally from the grocery store or buy them as supplements so they can be in high doses. I personally also take lots of probiotics which is very good for the inflammations in my intestines which is linked to my eye inflammations. But probiotics may take longer to eventually reach the eyes. I also just read that green tea is a very good anti inflammatory.
As for homeopathy, my Homeopath recommended me Euphrasia 30ch, but I suggest you speak to a professional first because homeopathy is often very catered to your specific situation. Hope this info is helpful to your daughter and also to everyone else who needs help. Good luck to everyone!

I have been suffering from Anterior uveitis that started soon after I had LASIK surgery. I'm an SLE patient and I had never had this type of symptom ein my life until after I had the LASIK. I have been on steroid drops for almost three months now. My vision after the initial uveitis episode has been progressively worsening and I was finally told the inflammation is going down, but I don't think I would want to retouch my eyes with LASIK or PRK. They haven't been able to specify what caused this inflammation, but by exclusion they think it's the SLE (I've been symptom free from SLE for more than 2 years prior to surgery). The treatment is already standard: steroid drops, dilating drops in case you get a ciliary spasm and drops to lower intra-ocular pressure (happens very commonly when using steroid drops for a while). You should follow up with your ophthalmologist on a regular basis, it could become a serious emergency.
