Hello. I am in my late 30s with a bad case of PCOS for most of my life, and had failed fertility pills, injectables, and multiple IUIs. I had a m/c at just 10 weeks along, after Clomid a few years ago, as it thinned out my uterine lining too much. I started Vitex 400 mg twice a day, along with fish oil 1000 mg once a day and a prenatal vitamin 3 months ago, and I just had a positive pregnancy test the other day! I am CONVINCED the Vitex did it! I failed medical treatment, but herbal treatment worked! Please give these three supplements a try (Vitex, fish oil, and vitamin) for 3-6 months, and they just might work for you too. :D

HI, I also have PCOS. I discovered I had this 1 year ago and I'm 20. I am taking 2 capsules of Vitex at once everyday, a organic, all natural foods, no hormone or any bad things on meat, poultry or fish, eating non-processed foods, eating just whole grain, taking B complex, Calcium with Vitamin D and excercising with my dog. I go for 1 hour walk, run with my dog at the dog park ( she has helped me a lot ).
It's not even 1 week I have been doing all these things and I have already lost some weight, and feel better bodywise. And like I said, It's not even 1 week yet! I can't imagine what I will see in 1 to 3 months! Vitex has been helping me a lot, and I am going through this diet so it is good for me, and help the herb do it's thing. I also intend to have some acupuncture sessions done.
I have heard good things about vitex and I am willing tp stay at it, because it works.

Vitex agnus-castus (chaste tree berry) is a well-known herb that has been used for centuries in Europe for hormonal imbalances in women.It may be helpful for women with PCOS who do not have a normal menstrual cycle and thus don't ovulate or menstruate. I have been dealing with POCS for sometime. I went to my local health food/vitamin store and talked to the ladies about my condition. They found information about POCS. It is an excerpted from Dr. Susan Lark's Hormone Revolution. It says to rebalance estrogen levels and increase ovulation take 1-2 tablespoons of cold pressed flaxseed oil or 4-6 tablespoons of ground flaxseed daily. ( I tried taking liquid flaxseed oil but it was gross and i burped it up all day. So I am taking the essential womean by barleans in sofgels. I take 3-9 daily) She also says vitex also known as chaste tree berry is used to ease heavy menstrual bleeding, promote ovulation, and restore menstruation. To increase progesterone levels she suggests taking 140-275 mg of standardizes extract of vitex. ( I take 2 100mg capsules daily) she says it works slowly so it may take 3-4 months before you start to see its full benefit. I just started this and feel better already! Hope this helps!

Hi, I found out recently that I have PCOS, and realised that his explains a few things, including perhaps why it took us a year to conceive our daughter four years ago. When it was coming up to the 1 year mark, I decided to try vitex after reading a lot about it on the internet, and a month later I found out that I was pregnant. o.O
Of course this could be a massive coincidence, maybe I would've got pregnant then anyway, but I like to think that it was the vitex. Now after a year of trying for our second child I'm taking it again, and hoping to get a similar result.. So far this time I've been taking it for nearly 2 months, so we'll see what happens.
I'd definitely recommend trying it. I've read lots of great things about it, and from what I can make out there's nothing to lose. Plus I'm not keen to take fertility drugs as there are so many horrible risks involved. Good luck!

Just to let you know there is hope!! I had been infertile from ages 20 to 32 years. I had PCOS diagnosis at age 25. We finally gave up on having our own kids and adopted 2. Later, after my divorce, i started looking at herbal treatments for pcos and found the Vitex (chaste tree) links. I started reading any article I could find on it and also read that it could help with fertility. AT this time, it wasn't my concern because I had just divorced 2 years prior. Anyhow, long story short... I started taking vitex, lost 25 pounds very quickly... and when my babies father came to visit me (we had been together for 2 years with no birth control... we had also been separated for 3 months, 2 of those months I was taking vitex). Anyhow, he came to visit me for a week, and a month later I had the worse "car sickness" that wouldn't go away. I didn't want to take a test because I knew it would be negative, however this time I was wrong. I believe that the Vitex not only regulated my body but after 2 months of taking it, it had regulated everything enough and allowed me to conceive!!! I now have a beautiful 2 year old daughter thanks to vitex!!!! (a $12.00 bottle of pills compared to all the thousands of dollars spent at fertility doctors and all the horific painful biopsies, shots, and emotional distress) IT'S WORTH A TRY!!!

I just got my vitex in the mail, and needless to say I'm pretty excited, I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, because I'm already pretty positive that I have it. I have had unprotected sex for a year and a half, and haven't got pregnant. Ever since I was younger I grew hair like crazy, had periods that wouldn't come for sometimes 8 months! Etc, etc...It also has made me gain weight, and the inability to lose it...I am just hoping that vitex will regulate me, and help with the little things, that way I can have the ability to lose weight, and be healthy! Best of luck to all of you, and don't give up! There is always a solution. :-)

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 and to be honest I hate it. The acne, the facial hair the lack of a menstration.... pretty much all of it. I was reading through all of your posts and I just can't believe how much more common this condition is. Two of my sisters have it but I though our family was a fluke. (which wouldn't suprise me in the least) I was on Metformin (Glucophage) for a few years and for the first year it helped (with assistence from the Pill). But I really hate having to depend on Medication, and I was searching the web for an Herbal replacement. Which is when I stumbled on here. All of your stories have made me feel a lot less like some genetic defect, and more like a person with a purpose. I've been depressed about the situation for years and I honestly thought there was nothing more I could do than to take a prescription that stopped working after a year. I know all of this is sappy/emotional c**p but I just wanted to thank all of you for opening up to complete strangers. If not for this Forum I probably would never have found a remedy worth trying. I'm thoroughly planning on Trying Vitex and "When" it works I will post again with my success story like many of you. Thank you all again and May you all be blessed with wonderful and perfect Children.
